Linn Brown comes from a family of professional musicians. She plays piano, writes, and records original songs.
Linn has had a lifelong affinity with young children and those with developmental and intellectual disabilities, as well as with children who are gifted and learn in a non-traditional way. She’s dedicated her working life to providing them private lessons and group classes.
Linn enjoys recording and producing her own music. She’s talented at writing lyrics, interesting chord progressions, string parts and vocal harmonies. She writes in a variety of styles and resists being consigned to one genre. Listen on her YouTube Channel.
While at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, Linn was part of a songwriter’s collective that performed regularly at The Red Herring Coffeehouse. She sang often with Dan Fogelberg, Jude Swift, and many other wonderful musicians. See Linn singing with Dan at a Red Herring Folk Festival concert (she’s the “unknown singer”!).
Linn was also part of Stage Fright, a creative group comprised of John Dean, his brother, Berto Dean, and herself. They wrote and performed their original songs in Ithaca, NY. You can hear their live performances here.
Linn has mainly performed solo in many venues throughout the years. She continues to record and has recently released twelve new songs (see them on Bandcamp!).
Linn lives in Oakland, CA with her husband, Richard Fredekind.
